What Makes Parents
Special?
Where
would we be without our parents? Would we have taken a different path in our
lives that could have led to a bad outcome? Without a parents guidance, there
is no way to know how our lives would have turned out or the situations we
would have had to face without their support.
From
the day our parents were told that we were conceived, I can only imagine the
joy and happiness they felt, especially our mother's who get to experience the
feeling of us growing in her womb. I know our father's were just as excited,
wondering if we were going to be a boy he could teach to play football, or a
little girl who could melt his heart with one grin. Either way, I bet they were
only hoping for a happy, healthy baby!
It's
our parents that teach us from birth how to reach different milestones in life,
from crawling, walking, talking, all the way up to driving a car. There is no
doubt that a parent's job isn't easy, but I know it's a rewarding experience
full of love and pride when we learn and accomplish the things they work so hard
to teach us. It is our parents that mold us to be the people we are today,
without them, there is no telling where we would be today.
As
children, we look up to our parents and strive to learn all we can as they help
us through the early years in life. However; as teenagers, we tend to distance
ourselves from our parents and try to make our own decisions; whether good or
bad. It is at this age we are seeing the world in a whole new light and we are
tempted with so many things now available to us in the world. This is the time
we need our parents the most. We need them to teach us the good, the bad and
the ugly that is out there. Even though I know this is also the age that we
tend to rebel and not listen to our loved ones, it is a very important time in
our lives that mold us into adulthood.
Parents
go through so many stages of emotion when raising children. From the newborn
age to adulthood, there are many ranges of emotion such as joy, happiness,
worry, fear, love, heartache and so on. But through it all our parents love us
and do their very best to help and be there when we need them. Just because we
are grown doesn't mean we don't need our parents, we will always need them, no
matter what!
So,
if you ask me why are parents special? My answer would be because they give us
unconditional love from the time we are born. They do their best to raise us to
be upstanding adults and even though we may not realize it, if we didn't have
our parents, we would be heartbroken, lost and confused. So, the next time you
see your parents, be sure to hug them and let them know how much you love and
appreciate them.
