10 Fun Coffee Facts!

Hey There! I thought I would post a little coffee trivia for all us coffee lovers out there! Let's take a look at what we can learn about our favorite hot beverage!

1. Coffee is the 1st food known to be freeze dried!
2. Kopi Luwak is the most expensive coffee out there, at $600 per pound!
3. David Strang is the inventor of instant coffee. It was invented in 1901.
4. Coffee trees grow an average of 32ft. high!
5. It takes approximately 4,000 coffee beans to roast 1 pound of coffee!
6. How do you like your coffee? Around 40% drink it straight black and around 60% add a type of sweetener or creamer!
7. In the 1970's coffee drinkers began drinking flavored coffee such as French Vanilla, Irish Cream and Hazelnut!
8. Coffee is very popular, it is known as the 2nd most traded commodity in the world!
9. Of all the states, Hawaii is the only state that commercially grows the beverage! 
10. Throughout history, there has been five attempts to ban this product! 

These are some interesting facts! I know I would be one unhappy individual if those trying to ban coffee had succeeded! I am a coffee O' Holic and I think I would be a very unhappy person without my java!
