Coffee & Christmas Music!

Good Afternoon My Coffee Drinking Friends!

It just so happens I seriously slept in today! I guess that might be because I was up until after 2 a.m. Now that I have been up and had a full cup of coffee and a pumpkin spice cappuccino, I'd say I am good to go. However; don't get me wrong, I will continue with my coffee throughout the day, just like everyday!
I started off my day listening to Chris Young's new Christmas album, I must say, I love it! If you are a country music fan, then this is the album you want to be listening to! His voice is amazing and he is an extremely talented artist. I enjoy all his music, however; when I heard his Christmas album this morning, I became even a bigger fan! Way to go, Chris Young!!!
What are some of your favorite artist? Do you have a favorite Christmas song? Feel free to leave me a message in the comments!
in addition to your favorite artist and Christmas song, do you have any traditions you keep for the holiday season? One of my favorite traditions I continue is, when I was a kid, my mom would make hot chocolate and we would listen to Christmas music and sip on the hot chocolate while we were decorating the tree. It's one of my all time favorite memories and I can still picture it in my head!

 Until Next Time...♥

Preparing for Christmas

Good Evening!

I truly apologize for not posting in quite some time. Once again, there have been things I have had to do which sadly kept me from posting on a regular bases. I would like to really catch up with everyone! How is the Christmas shopping going so far? Are most of you finished with your lists or are you still out making sure you find the perfect gift for all your friends and family?

Christmas is my favorite time of the year. I enjoy wrapping presents! (Well, in all honesty, I'm not too good at wrapping. My hubby wraps the gifts, I just help tape them up!) I also enjoy spending time with my family and friends on Christmas, however; this year I might not get to spend it with certain family members, as things aren't going as they should. I hope things do change and everything works out, especially since it is Christmas and everyone should be with the ones they love.

It's late here, so I will keep this entry short, but I hope everyone has an amazing time getting ready to celebrate this joyous season.

Until Next Time...♥

October Means Pumpkin Spice! Woohoo :)

Welcome to October my fellow coffee o' holics! Do you know what this month means for me? Well, let me tell you...it means Pumpkin Spice everything! (Woohoo!) I am addicted to this flavor and I am always looking forward to Fall so I can get my pumpkin spice fix!
I realize to some people it's an acquired taste, but I am one person who is all about it. There is pumpkin spice coffee, cappuccino, cake, cookies, muffins, and I even seen pumpkin spice cereal! Is there any certain flavor your addicted to? Are you a pumpkin spice addict too? If you are, we could be friends..lol.
After the pumpkin spice phase, I will be happily waiting on Christmas so I can drink my self crazy with Eggnog! But, I don't want to get a head of myself, for now I want to enjoy all pumpkin spice has to offer!

Grey's Anatomy!!

Good Evening My Friends!

I haven't posted in a few days. My reasoning? I have been watching re-runs of Grey's Anatomy :) I have been patiently waiting for the new season to come out, and when my daughter said she has been re-watching Grey's Anatomy, I decided to do the same! This is a very good show and I am catching things I didn't see the first time around!
Watching this show has kept me up late at night, I have been binge watching episode after episode. And of course after each one I keep telling myself I'm gonna go to bed, but then I click on the next one! It's not like I have been sleeping well at night anyway.
I'm also waiting on a few other shows to begin their new season. I like Chicago Fire, Shameless, The Fosters and the Vampire Diaries! I have thought about starting over with the Vampire Diaries, I can't ever get enough of Damon Salvatore anyway, he's just too good to look at, and I love his Bad Vampire role!
What show's do you guys love? Is there any you are currently waiting to come out with a new season? If so, be sure to leave me a comment, I would love to talk about them with you!!

Until Next Time...♥

All About The Weekend :)

Hello My Fellow Coffee Lovers!

Happy Friday! I hope everyone had a great work week and is now ready for the weekend. My weekend has started out pretty good, it began by me paying off my computer, so now I am a proud owner and have one less bill!! I also took my daughter to the store today, so I got to spend some time with her and my youngest grandbaby :) My middle grandbaby has been sick and not feeling well. Every time I know one of my grandbabies are sick, it makes me feel bad. I do not want these precious girls having to go through being sick. I think something is going around because two out of my four cuties have been sick last week. I pray whatever is going around goes away soon!
At this moment, my oldest grandbaby is spending the weekend with me and she is currently curled up in my bed sound to sleep :)

With the weekend just beginning, there is no telling how the rest of it's going to go. I foresee a lot of cartoons and playing dolls and other games...and lots of coffee! But there's nothing wrong with that. The memories I have with the times I have with any of my grandbabies are precious, they are all very smart and beautiful and have wonderful personalities :)

Now that you know what I'll be doing this weekend, what is ya'll's plans? Anything exciting going on or do you plan to take it easy and rest up for the upcoming work week?

Until Next Time...♥

Tennessee River Run!

Happy Thursday Coffee O' Holics!

Good morning! Have you had your first cup of sanity this morning? I'm working on my first cup of the day! I actually got some sleep last night and I feel refreshed (finally!) I was just sitting here wondering what to type about, waiting for something to pop in my mind. (I guess I haven't had enough coffee yet!) Something will come to me, I'm sure....

Oh, our town's Tennessee River Run, hosted by country singer, Darryl Worley is coming up this month! They have already started the Poker Run and there are several more events before the big concert! This year country singer Kellie Pickler has signed on to join! I won free tickets a few years ago to attend the concert when they had Montgomery Gentry, Jesse Whitley (Keith Whitley's Son), and a few others performing. It was a great concert with a lot of energy and good times! I have no doubt that this year is going to be any different :) The great thing about the TRR (Tennessee River Run), is Darryl Worley donates proceeds to various charities to help others! This event has been going on for several years and I'm sure it will be continuing for several more!
If you are in the area during this time, try your best to attend this event, you won't be disappointed!

Does your town host any special events? If so, I would love to hear about it!

Until Next Time...♥

Coffee: My New Best Friend!

Good Afternoon Coffee Friends!

If you have read my previous posts, you would know I was up until 4:00 a.m. this morning! I feel I have gotten some rest, but as I was up so late, I have missed most of the day :( That's the downfall of not sleeping I guess.
There are things I need to get done, like go through my things for a yard sale we are suppose to be having this weekend. The closet the items are in is intimidating me...lol. There is so much to go through and I need the drive to do so! I hope the weather holds out for this sale. Every time I think we will have a pretty weekend, things change and it storms!

So far since I have been up I have completed a few tasks that needed done today. I have fed the dogs, started laundry and of course made a fresh pot of coffee. I don't know how I would get things accomplished without my coffee, especially with so much lack of sleep I am getting! Thank goodness for the glorious cups of Joe! It has become my best friend :) Is it possible that the amount of coffee I consume is the reason for my late nights and lack of sleep? Yeah, that very well could be the reason, but I can't give up my coffee!

Well, it's time for me to go try and get a few more things done around the house! I hope everyone has an amazing day!!

Until Next Time...♥

Why Am I Up At 4:00 a.m.? I Need Sleep...ZZzzzz

Well, it's 4:00 a.m. here and I'm still awake! I really wish I could get back on track with sleeping! Since I can't sleep I have been watching shows online. Right now I'm starting the 4th season of a show entitled, "Shameless." It's been pretty good so far!
I know I should be in bed, but I know as soon as I lay down and close my eyes, they will pop back open and I will be staring at the ceiling! I have thought about trying some over-the-counter sleep aids, but I don't know if they will work. But, this up all night routine is ridiculous!
Does anyone else suffer with these issues? Do you have any ideas I can try to fix this situation? All I know is when I can't sleep, it makes the next day horrible!
Well, I know it's late, so I am going to try to go to bed...I will post more in the morning!

Goodnight...ZZzzz

  3. David Strang is the inventor of instant coffee. It was invented in 1901.
  4. Coffee trees grow an average of 32ft. high!
  5. It takes approximately 4,000 coffee beans to roast 1 pound of coffee!
  6. How do you like your coffee? Around 40% drink it straight black and around 60% add a type of sweetener or creamer!

I hope you enjoyed these facts! Have an amazing evening!

Summer 2016 Heat!

Happy Wednesday My Coffee Loving Friends!

How has the week been treating everyone? Are you counting down the days until the weekend? Things have been going well here on my end, except for the late nights due to the fact it's hard to sleep. Hopefully I can get my sleep cycle back on track soon and get back to normal hours!

The weather this Summer has been very hot! We have had occasional thunderstorms that produce quite a bit of rain, but it never seems to cool off! After the storms, at times it feels even hotter, with heat index of 109 degrees! It's temperatures in that range that keeps me indoors! When I'm outdoors in that type of heat it gives me a headache, I admit, I just can't handle it, it makes me miserable! Prayers to all those who have to work outside in those type of heat conditions. Please be sure you drink plenty of water and take a break in the shade as often as possible.

I hope everyone has a great rest of the week and relax and enjoy the coming up weekend!

Until Next Time...♥

Almost The Weekend!!

Good Thursday Evening!

It's almost time for the weekend! I know most of you can't wait to go to bed and not have to set the alarm clock for the butt crack of dawn :) After a long week at work everyone deserves to sleep in for a few days. I would so shut my bedroom door, hang a "Do Not Disturb" sign up and crawl under the covers and ignore the outside world for a few hours!

In other news--- I just recently got a Keurig! I have to say, I'm obsessed! There are so many types of coffee you can brew, along with cappuccino's and hot chocolate, the options seem endless :) Besides, I can have a cup of coffee quickly in the morning without having to wait for the regular coffee pot to brew :) It is now my new best friend, lol.

I hope everyone has an amazing weekend. I believe it's supposed to storm here all weekend, but hopefully the weather channel is wrong and it blows over in another direction! (As I mentioned before, me and storms to not gee-haw!)

Until Next Time...♥

Bad Weather & A Good Dinner!

Happy Wednesday Evening Fellow Coffee Addicts!

Today has been a good day for me. It started out by not waking up until after 11:00 a.m. which means I finally got some sleep! (Woohoo!) If you hsve read my previous post, you would know that sleep hasn't been my friend lately :(

I also went to my daughter's today and we took a trip to Wal-Mart. While there a huge storm blew in so we took our time browsing around waiting for the bad weather to pass. I will admit I am a big baby when it comes to storms and even though we were indoors I jumped a few times at the sound of loud thunder! Luckily we were able to make it out of the store and the storm as gone and we didn't have to fight the heavy rain and wind while trying to drive.

I stayed at my daughter's house and had dinner and it was really good. Let's just say I made a happy plate, I ate everything! I will admit, my daughter is a very good cook. She likes to try out different recipes, and 99% of the time it comes out really good!

All in all, I had a real good day, now let's see how late I stay up tonight by not being able to sleep.

Until Next Time...♥

So Sleepy..ZZzzz

Good Tuesday Evening!

At the moment I feel about like Garfield in the picture above. I could really use a nap, but not able to do so at this time :( So, as I sit here I am drinking my coffee and doing my best to keep my eyes open (Not so sure how well that is working!) I keep having to hit the backspace button on my keyboard to fix typos.

I had a pretty busy weekend, but it was well worth it, I got to see all my grandbabies! Which means my weekend was filled with laughter, crying, arguing and toys all throughout the house, but that's alright, we had fun! Now as I sit here it's quiet and the silence and the cool air condition is making me want to hit the sheets and snore for a while!

What has everyone else been up to these past few days? Did you have a busy weekend before starting another long work week? Or did you relax and enjoy sleeping in? I love the days when I can sleep in. My sleep cycle has been out of wack lately. I am up at all hours of the night and haven't had a good nights rest in quite some time.

I hope the rest of this week finds everyone doing well!

Until Next Time...♥

Late Night Jabber!

Hey There!

It's currently 12:30 a.m. my local time and I am still up! This tends to happen to me a lot lately. So many nights I find myself awake in the wee hours of the morning unable to sleep. (Perhaps it's all the coffee I drink throughout the day?) I have been sitting here at the computer, listening to the hum of my fan and as I look over at the couch, my hubby has fallen asleep. I'm just sitting here with one lamp on at the desk, wondering when I am going to be tired enough to go to bed.

There have been times I have contemplated trying over-the-counter sleep aids to help me rest, but I just don't like taking pills if I don't have too. I don't like to even take anything for a headache. I have tried just making myself go to bed, but I will lay there and toss and turn for so long, I just give up and get out of bed. It was after 4 a.m. yesterday morning before I was able to go to bed and get some sleep. I really need to do something about this because it makes the next day so rough on me...even with the help of coffee.

Speaking of coffee...I'll BRB, gotta go grab a fresh cup...

Well, I'm back with a cup of coffee, lol. Now to sit here and think of something else to jabber about...hmmm...let's see???

I recently just finished all the seasons of the show, "Orange is the New Black!" I must say, I was hooked and now I can't wait until the new season. If you haven't seen this show, it's a must watch! I am now waiting on the new and final season of "The Vampire Diaries!" I am a huge Damon Salvatore (Ian Somerhalder) fan! His character had me at.."Hello, Brother!" I'm really disappointed that this is the final season of this show, I am truly going to miss it!

What are your must see shows? Is there a show you just have to watch and can't stand to miss one single episode? I know I have quite a few I enjoy and I'm currently waiting on the new seasons to start!

Well, I guess this is all for tonight. I will write again soon!

Coffee Flavored M&M's!

Hey There Coffee Lovers!

I'm so excited, I just read they are coming out with Coffee Nut flavored M&M's! You best bet I will be on the look out for these when I am at the store. I haven't seen them yet, but I will be making a special trip down the candy isle seeking out these lovelies! I bet they are delish and I can't wait to try them!

I'm all about anything coffee flavored! Not everything tastes great with this flavor, but something tells me these M&M's are going to be amazing and sell out quickly! When I find a bag of this flavor, I will be sure to report back on what I think of them! (Something tells me I'm going to be addicted!)

If you have been lucky enough to already have tasted them, please let me know what ya think! (Are they as good as they sound?) Leave me a comment and let me know, I'm excited to see what everyone thinks!

I'm off on an M&M hunt...

Pokemon Go!

Greetings Coffee o' Holics!

I can't help but notice all the hype about the Pokemon Go app that is sweeping the nation! From what I have read it's become a very popular app that is causing a lot of issues. Well, I admit, I have added the app to my phone, and I must say it's quite fun and addictive!

I know everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but I have read some stories where this game has generated a lot of good for some people. I just read where one paralyzed man who hasn't been out of his house in a very long time is now outside everyday with his niece hunting Pokemon and socializing with people! Congratulations to him for finding something to help him not be so secluded, I hope he continues to go out every day and makes many more friends!

Just like with anything else, the Pokemon app has also caused trouble for some. There has even been situations where users have not paid attention to their surroundings and have gotten hurt. I admit, there were a few times where I have lacked judgement in my surroundings while trying to capture a Pokemon, so when you are searching for these creatures, please pay attention to where you are and the things going on around you!

In my opinion, all in all, I think the app is a great idea. It 's entertaining as well as a great way to get outdoors and walk! Please just remember, be aware of your surroundings and stay safe! Good luck!

Happy Hunting :)

"Coffee" in Different Languages!

Hello Coffee Lovers!

It's me again :) I was just sitting here thinking about all the people across the world who enjoy coffee as much as I do. There are so many different countries out there that wake up every morning patiently waiting for their morning pick-me-up. I thought it would be interesting to find out how different countries say the word, "Coffee!"  Here is what I found...I hope ya'll don't have as hard a time as I did trying to pronounce the word :)

  1. Dutch- Koffie
  2. French- Cafe'
  3. German- der Kaffee
  4. Irish- Caife
  5. Polish- Kawa
  6. Spanish- el cafe'
  7. Turkish- Kahve
  8. Russian- Kofe
  9.  Romanian- Cafea
  10. Korean- Keopi
  11. Hawaiian- Kope
  12. Chinese- ga feh
These are just a few I found, I'm sure there are a lot more. I hope you find this information as interesting as I did!

Happy Drinking!

Chicken & Dumplings with a Headache!

Good Saturday Evening!

How has everyone's weekend been so far? Are you'll enjoying this hot, sunny Summer weather? Even though it's 100 degrees outside, you best bet I'm still drinking my coffee throughout the day!

Tonight I followed a recipe my daughter gave me for chicken & Dumplings! Now, every time I try to follow a recipe the results turn out horrible. Well, tonight, the end result was delicious! I am proud of myself for making such a good tasting dinner! (Go Me!!) I will keep this recipe in my kitchen and will definitely will be making it again :)

Now that dinner is done and the kitchen is clean, I'm just relaxing with...yes, you guessed it...a cup of coffee! Does anyone else get a headache if they don't drink enough coffee? I know I do. I have only had two cups today, which is very unusual for me. I started developing a headache earlier, but when I sat down and began drinking coffee, the headache slowly began to go away.

Well, I hope everyone has an amazing Saturday evening. I'm gonna sign off here and probably get on facebook!!

Oklahoma in the Big Truck!

Good Tuesday Morning!

This morning I got to wake up in my own bed! Ya see, Sunday afternoon I left out on the big truck with my hubby for a trip to Oklahoma! So, I've been riding in the passenger seat and sleeping in the bunk as he drives down the road. It's been a while since I've went on the road with him and it was good top leave town and see some new scenery! Although we went to Oklahoma, there wasn't much to see, as we were on the Interstate most of the time. However; we did stop at a few truck stops and I browsed around a bit...boy, I forgot how expensive truck stops can be!

One thing that is kinda rough for me is waking up in the morning at a delivery and there is no coffee! There are times when the customers might have coffee inside and they don't mind us getting some, but there are places that don't offer that, so I have to wait until we find a truck stop. But, all is good, just being on the truck with my hubby is fun and a great way to spend time together!

Another thing I didn't remember since I haven't taken a trip lately is the other cars on the Interstate. Wow...I guess the cars think it's OK to just pull out in front of a semi and they can stop on a dime...well, note to other vehicles on the road...they can't! I wish other drivers would pay more attention and be more careful when driving! I notice a lot of people blame accidents on the semi's, but there are a lot of times where the driver of the car is not paying attention and trying to race ahead of the semi..this causes a lot of problems and could turn out to be very dangerous just because someone wants to be ahead of the semi! Please think sensible when you are driving out there, I want everyone to reach their destination safely!

Hope everyone has a great Tuesday!!

Coffee, TV & a Little Bit of Chores!

It's Monday! Now that the dreadful beginning of the work week is over and we survived, I feel like relaxing with a cup of coffee and finding a good TV show or movie to watch. Most of my favorite shows are not airing at the moment, so I find myself watching reruns or lifetime movies. (Can't go wrong with a lifetime movie!)

Today has been a laid back kinda day. Of course, the first thing I did was get up out of bed and start a fresh pot of coffee. Then, well as I do every morning, I log on and check my Facebook! I then went outside and dumped the water out of the two kiddie pools in my yard and prop them up to dry. My next step was let mt dogs out for a bathroom break. Well, I put them in the big outdoor kennel outside and wouldn't ya know, they found a way to get out and they were gone for several hours! I love my pets, but there are times they really get on my nerves!

Along with all that this morning, I did the dishes and put them away. Other than that, I have been relaxing today, watching shows and movies on the computer. I did a few things productive today! (Go Me!) LOL... Now I am sitting back down typing this post and fixing to browse through the lifetime movies and find me something to watch.

I hope everyone had an amazing day...

Until Next Time...♥

Swimming & Pool Safety Tips!

Happy Summer Coffee o'holics!

Summer time means a lot of hours spent swimming! This activity is very popular in the months of June thru August and while enjoyed by thousands, this fun pastime can be dangerous to people of all ages, especially children. Here are a few tips on swimming and pool safety that should be followed.

1. Be sure all little children use proper safety devices such as arm rings, baby float or life vests.

2. Be sure your child knows not to run and horseplay around the pool. This could cause injury.

3. Be sure all children are not left unattended when swimming. Make sure an adult is present at all times.

4. Due to danger from the sun, make sure everyone is using proper sunblock.

5. If you are swimming in a river/lake, please do not go out too far into the water. Especially keep a close eye on children while in crowded waters.

These above tips are just a few that will help keep you safe while enjoying the fun of swimming.  We want everyone to have a great and safe summer!

Happy Swimming!!!

Bacon, Eggs & Coffee on a Campfire!

Good Friday Afternoon Coffee Drinker's!

Did everyone have a great 4th of July weekend? I know I did, we went camping and spent the night in nature! It was nice to spend quality time outdoors while cooking over a fire and roasting huge marshmallows. The only thing that kind of bummed me out is it started to rain for a bit, but all was good because my hubby hung a trap between trees and we were able to sit outside and watch it rain :)

One of my favorite parts of the trip is waking up to my hubby cooking bacon and eggs in a cast iron skillet over the fire, as well as making campfire coffee! We were joined on our camping trip by one of my grandbaby's and her mamma, as well as my stepdaughter. We all had a good time and I enjoyed watching my 2 year old grandbaby play with glow sticks when it was dark. For being 2 years old and the first time camping, she did a really good job and enjoyed running around outside and swimming!

I hope to do some more camping this summer, we were only able to stay for one night due to my hubby having to go back to work the next afternoon. But, I am sure we will plan to camp again when we will have the chance to stay for more than one night. Even though our trip was sort, it  was fun and we captured some good pictures and made good memories!

Hope everyone has an amazing weekend!!

Until Next Time...♥

Animals in Hot Vehicles...A Big No-No!

Happy Wednesday Coffee Drinkers!

Today's post doesn't have anything to do with coffee. Instead, I would like to write about something I have seen a lot of so far this Summer, and the season just begun. I know there are a lot of pet lovers out there who enjoy taking their fur babies for a ride in the car with them, but when doing so, please be careful of the heat and be sure your pets have plenty of air. I have seen dogs locked in cars with no or minimal air, as the windows are completely up.

Just 15 minutes in a hot vehicle with no air can cause the animal to have a heart stroke or even die. Dogs can only cool themselves down by panting or sweating through their paws, so if they are locked in a vehicle with no way for air, the outcome is deadly. Even with temperatures in the lower 70's, if the animal is in a vehicle with the windows up, it can quickly reach over 100 degrees. No one wants animals to suffer, it's very cruel to make an animal sustain such heat when it's not necessary.

Even if the owner of the pet leaves the windows down just a bit, there is not much of a difference in the heat levels. So, if you see an animal locked in a hot car with no way out, there are things you can do to help that animal to safety.

Write down the license plate number, along with the make and model of the vehicle. If possible, try to find the owners of the vehicle and inform them of the situation. If none of there options are available, you can call the non-emergency local police department number and ask for assistance.

Please treat your animals fairly and don't put them in unnecessary potential dangerous situations...

Until Next Time...♥

Working and 4th of July Plans :)

Good Tuesday Evening! How has everyone's week been so far? I have worked for the past several days, but luckily I have tomorrow off. So, my plan is to sleep in and not set my alarm clock tonight..woohoo!

The weather here has been extremely hot and muggy :( I have only had the chance to go swimming a few times so far this Summer, but I defiantly plan on hitting the lake again as soon as I can. I hope the hubby and I can go camping for the 4th of July coming up. I have the 4th and 5th off of work, so I would like to camp, swim and watch the fireworks!(That's the pan I'm hoping for anyway!)

Hope everyone has an amazing week!!

Busy Week and a Few Rude People

Hello there my fellow coffee lovers!

This has been quite a busy week for me so far, and it's not over yet! I have been working all week and finally have the day off tomorrow, so guess what??? I'm not setting my alarm clock tonight and I'm going to sleep in! (Woohoo!!)

I have plans tomorrow though, we are going to take two of my grandbabies to the water park. I know they are going to have fun and enjoy playing in the water! Right now though I can here my grandbaby Ryleigh talking in the other room, trying to keep herself from going to sleep! This has been a nightly thing, but typically normal for a 2 year old.

So, how has things been going for everyone else this week? For me, well there have been a few days this week when customers have cussed me out! You see, it's the law for me to check ID for alcohol and cigarettes, no matter your age. Well, there are some people who are very rude when I ask to see their ID. I know as an adult it can be aggrivating, but it's the law and it's my job to see an ID, I refuse to loose my job because someone won't show ID...so, No ID, No alcohol or cigarettes.

Well, I hope everyone has an amazing night and rest of the week!

Until Next Time...♥

What Makes Parents Special?

What Makes Parents Special?

Where would we be without our parents? Would we have taken a different path in our lives that could have led to a bad outcome? Without a parents guidance, there is no way to know how our lives would have turned out or the situations we would have had to face without their support.

From the day our parents were told that we were conceived, I can only imagine the joy and happiness they felt, especially our mother's who get to experience the feeling of us growing in her womb. I know our father's were just as excited, wondering if we were going to be a boy he could teach to play football, or a little girl who could melt his heart with one grin. Either way, I bet they were only hoping for a happy, healthy baby!

It's our parents that teach us from birth how to reach different milestones in life, from crawling, walking, talking, all the way up to driving a car. There is no doubt that a parent's job isn't easy, but I know it's a rewarding experience full of love and pride when we learn and accomplish the things they work so hard to teach us. It is our parents that mold us to be the people we are today, without them, there is no telling where we would be today.

As children, we look up to our parents and strive to learn all we can as they help us through the early years in life. However; as teenagers, we tend to distance ourselves from our parents and try to make our own decisions; whether good or bad. It is at this age we are seeing the world in a whole new light and we are tempted with so many things now available to us in the world. This is the time we need our parents the most. We need them to teach us the good, the bad and the ugly that is out there. Even though I know this is also the age that we tend to rebel and not listen to our loved ones, it is a very important time in our lives that mold us into adulthood.

Parents go through so many stages of emotion when raising children. From the newborn age to adulthood, there are many ranges of emotion such as joy, happiness, worry, fear, love, heartache and so on. But through it all our parents love us and do their very best to help and be there when we need them. Just because we are grown doesn't mean we don't need our parents, we will always need them, no matter what!

So, if you ask me why are parents special? My answer would be because they give us unconditional love from the time we are born. They do their best to raise us to be upstanding adults and even though we may not realize it, if we didn't have our parents, we would be heartbroken, lost and confused. So, the next time you see your parents, be sure to hug them and let them know how much you love and appreciate them.

Summer Sun Safety Tips: Avoid the Burn!

With Summer time upon us, there are going to be millions of people spending adequate time outdoors at the lake, beach or pool. Even though it feels good to lay out and spend time in the sun, there is the danger of sunburn. Sunburn can cause many different problems, not to mention, hurt terribly. Let's take a look at some tips we can follow to keep ourselves from suffering from pain and possible other health risks.

  • 10 a.m.-2 p.m are times when it is the hottest, try to avoid being outdoors for long periods of time during those hours.
  • Be sure to use sunscreen and reapply it every 2 hours.
  • If you wear sunglasses, please be sure to purchase those that offer total UV protection.
  • Keep Children ages 6 months or younger out of the heat and sun.
  • Find shade and relax for periods of time.
  • Remember, even if it is a cloudy day, sunburn can still occur. Always use sunscreen!
I hope everyone has an amazing Summer and enjoys their time swimming and other outdoor activities.  Please practice these safety tips and have a great Summer season! And most importantly, when you are swimming with children, rather it be at a pool, lake or beach, always have adult supervision. It's always better to be safe than sorry!

Coffee: Not For Just Drinking!

Coffee is not just an amazing cup of liquid heaven. Believe it or not there are many things that can be done with left over coffee grounds. So, before you empty that filter of grounds into the trash can, let's take a look at what you can do.

  • Place some coffee grounds on your dish rag and use it to scrub away grease on your dishes.
  • Placing coffee grounds in your garden is a great way to keep bugs away from your beautiful flowers.
  • Wanting to get rid of pesky food smells on your hands after eating? Wash your hands with coffee grounds and then rinse thoroughly.
  • Are you a pet owner that fights the smells in your house caused by your loving pet? Place some freshly ground coffee beans in a skillet and put on low on your stove. This is a great way to eliminate those unwanted smells.
  • Adding fresh brewed coffee to your hair can actually make it shiny! Pour a pot of coffee into your dry hair and wait 20 minutes. Rinse and repeat daily if desired.
  • Old coffee grounds also makes a great car air freshener.  place grounds into a container that has small holes or design your own coffee grounds holder to place in your car for a fresh smelling interior.

I think I will try some of these ideas myself. If any of you decide to try one or all of these ideas, shoot me a message and let me know what you think!

Summer Has Just Begun! Bring on the Sunblock!

Happy Friday Coffee Lovers!

How has your last day of the week been so far? For those of you at work, I bet you're watching the clock, waiting for the end of your shift so you can clock out and start your weekend! It looks like it's going to be a pretty weekend here in Tennessee, weather wise! (In the lower & mid 90's with sunshine!)

I went swimming for the first time this Summer yesterday evening. We went to Pickwick Lake and spent about an hour wading in the water and playing with the children in the sand! It was nice to get out and enjoy some time with friends and family, as well as enjoy some laughter and snapping pictures of the little ones playing in the sand. Maybe I can convince the hubby to go back out to Pickwick sometime this weekend, and this time pack a lunch and have a little picnic while swimming and soaking up the sun!

Do ya'll have any weekend plans that include the lake, beach or pool? If not, you might want to consider throwing on a swim suit, pack a lunch and hit the water. There's nothing better than spending a Summer day outside, enjoying the beautiful weather and having a little fun! Just be sure to use sunblock, we don't want anyone going home regretting their trip to the water because of annoying sunburn :(

Here's to hoping everyone has an amazing weekend! Stay safe and have fun!!

Until next Time... ♥

The Beginning of Summer!!

Hello Everyone....

Once again it has been quite a while since I have made a post. There has been a lot going on that has kept me away from sitting down and writing. We had a passing in the family as well as a little family drama, but I'm not going to get into that. I'm sure everyone has been through some family drama a few times  in there life, but unlike some, I refuse to make it public.

How has the beginning of everyone's Summer been? have you hit the lake yet or gathered with family and friends for a BBQ?  I haven't had the pleasure of swimming yet, however; I have had the opportunity to attend a few cookouts! I have to say a grilled cheese burger is one of my favorite things when cooking out. I hope to get the chance to camp out this Summer for the 4th of July. We used to do it every year, but we haven't been able to in a while. I really hope we can arrange it this year, I miss it!

In other news...I just recently got my job back! (YAY!!!) So I will be starting again hopefully here in the next few days. With the cost of living nowadays, you almost have to have a two income family to make ends meet, and still it can be stressful! I am just glad to be employed again to help take the stress of the bills off my hubby with a little bit of help!

Here's to hoping everyone has an amazing Sunday afternoon!!!

Until Next Time... ♥

Hello to the Month of April!

Hello again my favorite coffee companions!

It's sad to say, but it has once again been a while since I have posted :(  I used to post on here daily, but you know how life goes, there are times when things get in the way of doing what you want to do. I hope this post finds all of you doing well.

How was everyone's Easter? I had a great time attending a family cookout and watching my grandbabies hunt Easter eggs in the yard! They had a great time hunting over 200 plastic eggs hid all throughout the yard...there was even one hid in their papa's shirt pocket..lol! I snapped plenty of pictures of their hunt on my phone, so I have a great souvenir to always remember the fun we had and the memories we made!

Now that it's April, this means a new month to look forward too. Luckily, I was not tricked at all om April fool's day! How many of ya'll had to deal with pranksters on the 1st of April? What are some of the things people tricked you about?

Here's to everyone having a great day...and a good month! (Along with warmer weather!!! YAY!!)

Until Next Time...♥

Housework & Laundry...Oh Joy!

Good Wednesday Evening!

How has everyone's day been going so far? I have spent the day cleaning house and doing laundry (Oh, joy!) For some reason I don't mind doing laundry and folding it, I just really don't like the task of hanging everything back up and putting it way, but it has to be done. It seems like a woman's work around the house is never done!

I really try to keep a clean house and I love to keep wax in my electric burner to keep the house smelling good! At times keeping the house in order can be a task when the grand-babies are over, but it's okay, it's usually just their toys and I know they are having fun. I just pick everything up at night when they are in bed asleep.

Well...since it's Wednesday, that mean just two more days til the weekend! I have cleaning plans for the weekend as well, I have some things outside I need to load onto the trailer and haul off.  So, Saturday the hubby and I will be busy outdoor, I really hope the weather cooperates so we can get these things done!

What are ya'lls plans for the weekend? Are you doing cleaning as well, or relaxing or working? Either way, I hope everyone enjoys their weekend!

Until Next Time...♥
